Branding, logo design and packaging design for London based food startup Karen Eats
Food Packaging Designers
Karen from Karen eats reached out to me - she was looking for a food packaging designer to help with her brand identity, and packaging design, for her new snack start-up. Karen eats is a vegan nut brand based in London, creating all natural, fun flavoured nuts. She wanted a bold brand to reflect the product, and the brand values. We worked on the brand strategy, branding, and pack designs, to create a strong and memorable brand, to stand out on shelf. The nuts are now stocked in independents, and also on Amazon.

Food Packaging Design for Snack Brands UK
Packaging design within the snack food and plant-based category needs to balance several important elements:
• Strong shelf visibility
• Clear flavour communication
• Bold and memorable branding
• Premium yet approachable design
• Consistency across multiple products and SKUs
For Karen Eats, the goal was to create a visual identity that felt energetic, fun, and distinctive while still maintaining a clean and contemporary retail appearance.
The packaging system also needed to communicate the natural and vegan positioning of the products while helping the brand stand out within crowded snack and health food environments.
THE CHALLENGE
The main challenge was creating a snack brand identity that felt playful and expressive without losing clarity or retail appeal.
Many healthy snack brands rely heavily on minimalist or overly natural branding systems, which can make it difficult to achieve strong differentiation and shelf impact.
The objective was to create a more vibrant and recognisable packaging system that improved brand visibility while reinforcing the natural and flavour-led nature of the products.
THE SOLUTION
We began with brand strategy and positioning to define how Karen Eats should sit within the modern vegan snacks market.
From there, I developed:
• A bold logo design
• Vibrant colour palettes
• Packaging design for the product range
• Modern typography systems
• Clean and scalable packaging layouts
The final design direction creates a strong and recognisable visual identity that helps the products stand out clearly within retail environments while maintaining strong consistency across the range.
THE OUTCOME
The result is a cohesive food branding and packaging design system that positions Karen Eats as a bold and modern vegan snack brand with strong retail and e-commerce appeal.
The packaging design improves shelf recognition, communicates flavour clearly, and creates a more commercially distinctive brand presence within the competitive healthy snacks market.
The products are now stocked in independent retailers and available online through Amazon.
